Established by the UN General Assembly in 1949, our mission is to assist Palestine refugees in achieving their full potential until a just and lasting solution to the refugee crisis is found. The Agency provides services to Palestine refugees in Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and the West Bank (including East Jerusalem).
Over the past seven decades, Palestine refugees have experienced extremes in violence, suffering and injustice. As a result, they are confronted with daunting human development and protection challenges, which stand to arrest their significant potential. Humanitarian conditions across much of the UNRWA areas of operation are grave, exacerbated by protracted conflict and the lack of political progress. Read more about our mission and achievments.
